Terms & Conditions



In order to complete an online booking, customers are required to agree/tick/check a box on our booking form to confirm that our Terms & Conditions have been read and are unconditionally accepted.

By agreeing/ticking/checking the box, also confirms that you fully accept that Tours are non refundable under any circumstances.


The cheapest way to book a tour is by booking on our website. 

As our booking system is fully automated, this saves on staff administration time so all of our online prices are discounted to reflect this.

For all bookings that are made direct with our drivers/operators, a £10.00 administration fee will be added.

Our main Tour collection point is on Bridge Street in Cambridge (outside The Galleria Restaurant) by the bridge.

Customers that book a tour for a Sunday, also have the option to be collected from Trinity Street (outside Senate House) if they would prefer.

This option is only available on Sundays due to road restrictions leading to the area.

If you choose to be collected from Trinity Street (outside Senate House) on any other day, your collection point will automatically be changed to Bridge Street and that is where your driver will be waiting for you.

If you would like to be collected from another location within the City, please Contact Us first for a price and availability.

Please arrive at the collection point at least five minutes before your booked/confirmed collection time.

Your booked time is when your tour should start, so by arriving five minutes early then allows time for any pictures to be taken and to get everyone boarded.

If you arrive up to 10 minutes late for your tour, a shorter route will then be taken in order to make up lost time.

If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, your tour will be cancelled as there would not be enough time to complete our tour route/circuit, in time for our next booking/customers.

Cancelled tours under the above circumstances are non refundable or transferable.


Although we always aim to collect customers on time, this can sometimes vary due to heavier than usual traffic or other unforeseen circumstances.

We therefore advise that collection times can run up to 10 minutes later on busier days, or on Sundays due to our slightly longer tour route.

If we are running more than 5 minutes late, we will always aim to call you (from a withheld number) on the phone number you submitted when you booked your tour to let you know, but at busier times can not guarantee this.

As our Model Ts are fully licensed private hire vehicles, UK law states that child seats/boosters are not required providing a normal seat belt can be used/worn correctly.

Babies/toddlers that are not able (or big enough) to support themselves safely using a normal seat belt, must ride in/on an appropriate child seat/booster, which is the responsibility of the person making the booking to supply and install. 

Babies/toddlers are not permitted to sit or ride on an adults lap, as this is against the law and our licensing conditions.

Please also be aware that our vehicles are not big enough to carry/store child buggies, strollers or wheel chairs but they can be left with our friends at Giles & Co on Trinity Street (free of charge).


Our Family Tours are designed for:

2 Adults and 2 Children up to the age of 12 years old.


2 Adults and 3 Children up to the age of 12 years old.

*Identification may be asked to be shown on the day*

Please be aware: 

If on the day of your tour there are more passengers than you booked and paid for, the correct tour charge/amount difference will be due and payable to your driver (if we are able to take them), plus a £10.00 administration fee.

As each day is carefully planned and prepared to ensure our vehicles have enough battery power to fulfil all customer bookings, any extra weight (by adding persons/passengers at the last minute) could have a negative impact on vehicle range.

We therefore reserve the right to refuse extra passengers that have not been paid for at the time of booking.

If you do need to add extra passengers for your tour/booking (and providing we are made aware of the change at least 48 hours in advance), please Contact Us so we can confirm the change & charge accordingly.

Cancelled tours are non refundable/transferable.

However, If your cancellation is made at least 48 hours before your confirmed tour date, we are happy to reschedule a new tour for you.

Please be aware that rescheduled tours are limited to once per customer, within one calendar month, and are subject to availability.

If we do not have availability within one calendar month due to other bookings, no refunds will be offered/due.  

This also applies to all BuyaGift, Red Letter days or our own Cambridge Vintage Tours e-vouchers.

We DO NOT accept cancellations via voicemail or text message. 

If you do need to cancel any booking, please email us at:

or reply to the confirmation email you received when you initially booked.

Please note that emails can take up to 24 hours to be responded to.


If your tour/booking is cancelled by us due to unforeseen circumstances such as adverse weather conditions, vehicle breakdowns, road closures or public health rules/recommendations, we will call you on the number you supplied at the time of booking (from a withheld number), or notify you by email as soon as we are able to. 

We can then reschedule a new tour for you and there are no time limits to when you can rebook.

We reserve the right to cancel any tour at any time to prevent:

1. Injury to customers/drivers.

2. Abuse to the public/drivers.

3. Damage or overloading to any of our vehicles. 

4. If a child is too small to ride without a child/booster seat, and the person/customer who made the booking has not supplied one.

5. Customers refuse to wear seat belts.

6. Customers refuse to wear face coverings if asked to during any pandemic/public health recommendations.

Cancelled tours under any of the above circumstances are non refundable or transferable.

We also reserve to right to take an alternative route during any tour if we have been made aware of any road closures or obstacles that may cause damage to our vehicles, for example: broken glass on the road, protests or anything else that could cause a problem or put our customers/drivers safety at risk.

Customers can prebook our services by:
1. Booking through our website,

2. Emailing us,

3. By filling in the Contact Us section on our website to request a booking,

4. Calling our phone number. *Calls & call backs may be recorded for training purposes*

5. Booking directly with one of our drivers/operators.

We DO NOT accept bookings by using any form of text messaging or video call service.


 Our Model Ts can seat (up to) seven passengers (usually a maximum of five adults plus two children aged 12 or under), but it is ultimately the drivers final decision and discretion to prevent overloading. 

If a seven person tour has been booked and no children are present, your tour may be cancelled to prevent overloading and no refunds will be offered or due.

Safety belts in our vehicles must be worn at all times as it is UK law.

Only drivers of our vehicles are authorised to lock/unlock vehicle doors, as it is one of our licensing conditions.

No food or drink (apart from water) is allowed to be consumed on/in our vehicles at any time.


Small (well behaved) dogs/pets are welcome on the understanding that they are not allowed to sit/travel on the seats of the vehicle, and any soiling of any type will incur a £180.00 cleaning and sanitation fee that is to be paid directly to the driver. 

You also agree that any damage to our vehicles such as marks/scratches/tears to our vehicle/seats will be paid for after we receive quotations from an upholsterer/repair shop. 

As our vehicles are totally silent when driven, throughout any tour/service we sound our very unique horn from time to time to warn pedestrians and cyclists that we are coming.

Although we welcome our customers to take as many photo's as possible during their tour, we do ask that video recording is kept to a minimal and the recording of our complete tour is not permitted.

As our vehicles do not have fixed side windows or internal heating, we advise our customers to wrap up warm in colder months and we welcome you to bring along blankets if you chose.

BuyaGift/Red Letter Days vouchers can be used on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday (when available, excluding Bank Holidays, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve).

They cannot be used on a Saturday or Sunday.

Validation of BuyaGift/Red Letter Days codes can take up to 24 Hours, so please allow plenty of time before planning/booking your tour.

If you would like to add extra passengers or upgrade to our extended Grantchester route, your BuyaGift/Red Letter Day voucher has a credit value of £30.00 and any difference can be paid to upgrade your booking (plus a £10.00 administration fee).

Please note that we are unable to stack BuyaGift/Red Letter Day vouchers for larger groups/more than a two person tour.

If you would like to upgrade your BuyaGift/Red Letter Days tour, please contact us before submitting a booking request so we can give you a full quotation.

Cambridge Vintage Tours e-Gift Vouchers can be used on any day that our tours are available.

A £10.00 administration fee is due when ordering any e-gift voucher.

If you would like to add extra passengers or upgrade your tour, any difference can be paid (plus a £10.00 administration fee).

e-Gift Vouchers never expire.

e-Gift Vouchers are non refundable.

Our City Tour lasts approximately 25 minutes and is available from March to December.

Our City Tour with a trip to Granchester lasts approximately 50 minutes and is available from March to September. 

All of our Tours are spoken in English.  

We may send you an email after your tour (to the email address you supplied to us at the time of booking) for feedback/Tripadvisor review requests.

If this is something that you would rather we did not do, please tell your driver on the day of your tour.


Payments made via our website are done so securely by using either Square payment merchant services or PayPal.
